Stories in conversation reflect our perspective & current reality…

As I was sharing a story with a friend about something I had seen…that also included my feelings, judgements and observations about the person and situation. I suddenly realised that here I was again…creating a way of seeing that fitted with what I saw and that what I saw in the situation was all that I knew in my mind. As I understand that the mind sees what it has in its own mind as ‘real’. What is real?  Upon further reflection, I take away the feelings, the judgements and am left with the ‘what is’. The blunt description of what I saw to have occurred. I see that I tailor made my reality with my judgements, feelings, and ‘reactions’ to what I perceive to have occurred. Is this how it is for each of us? What would happen if there was only the ‘what is’?

Swimming in the pool can be an experience of the energy reality…?

As I swim in the pool I consider …as I take a stroke and breathe how the physical sensation of swimming in water might parallel the truth of an energy perspective reality. When I swim…I am totally supported in an unseen way by a substance that is transparent to the eye. And yet…I am able to choose how I move, weather I move, how I experience the action of swimming in relationship with the water, my body, my mind and whatever else appears in my presence consciously or not. Such a loving energy, I feel, the pool water. The question is do I really get “out” of the water when I exit the pool?

Moving from the head to the heart way of be-ing in the world…

In opening my self to experiencing, feeling, seeing and learning energy. I find myself learning to shift my operation in this physical life to more and more from the heart. As I listen to the communication mind, body, spirit, soul with my heart I find there is a build in guidance and mentoring for the thoughts, words and actions I choose with the mind and body.  The energy is there…all around the matter which makes up physical form. It feels good to be this way.

Embracing feelings…in self understanding

The perfection of the feelings we are born with… in observing a baby I see how amazingly they work. When a baby needs to express, it expresses in the moment. A laugh, a cry …… In each moment the baby speaks it’s feelings and then it is over…onto the next moment. What happens as we grow in our human suit? Where do our feelings go? Sometimes they are labelled good and bad feelings in judgement, sometimes we avoid the unpleasant ones in our attachment to the good feeling ones…What if feelings were seen differently? Perhaps they are a link to the perfection of who we are, to an acceptance of ourselves as we are?. I have found in my own life that acknowledging and allowing all of my feelings leads me to a place of self acceptance and a greater sense of peace.

Beginning yoga…opening the body experience

When I first started yoga I marveled at how amazing the postures felt in my body. I felt an excitement to try new postures and see what was possible physically. I eagerly sought the limits of what I could do and where I could go. My yoga practice had begun…with the body opening. That was 16 years ago…over time my relationship with my physical practice changes constantly …and the practice changes constantly…the postures for me were a beginning point…an entry into my own self understanding.

Knowing the pain & the cure of unification, embracing all of it…

“We all share the wound of fragmentation and we can all share in the cure of unification. Healing is the unification of all our forces…the powers of being, feeling, knowing and seeing.” Source: Gabrielle Roth in the Gratitude Diary, by Melanie. It is in the feeling of the feelings that the path to our personal truth lies…in exploring, allowing, acknowledging and experiencing our feelings the journey to healing begins and continues…The mind creates pain through perspectives and attachments, resistances that it holds. I find in my own pain, getting out of my head and seeing the thoughts separately from me…letting the feelings flow…creates a more peaceful place of being, a space for choice of action from a different place with conscious intention.

A rose is perfectly a rose as a bud & in bloom

We are trained by society in general to list the things, in order to achieve a certain outcome.  What if this is the illusion and we are actually perfect as we are?  The rose is a bud simply in itself as itself. Perfectly expressing its ‘roseness’, the rose opens when its ready to open and then expresses itself as a bloom. The dichotomy of self understanding is reconciling both accepting the perfection of who I am in the moment of be-ing the bud; whilst at the same time holding the energy, desire to grow and the possibility for myself to bloom without attachment.

Yoga & Asana…

Yoga asana (posture) is for me the practice of making shapes. The shapes in our bodies communicate what is going on both from the outside in and the inside out. The experience of the shape, the way of be-ing in the shape, the observation of our relationship with the shape are all speaking. It is up to us if we choose to really listen.

Self Understanding of body, mind & spirit

In a conversation today, I noticed that I am continually seeing, listening and being in self understanding. I understood that each of us are living out our life story…and yet there is a commonality in our relationships with it. When mainstream ways of knowing using mind psychology and or body disease are the only avenues, to me we are missing an important part of who we are. We are also giving our power to something or someone outside of ourselves.  As a human, I sense that I am made up of body, mind and spirit, soul or energy or divine or what ever you want to name it.  I will name it spirit and soul as  those parts of ourselves that on an inner level is watching the mind think the thoughts, watching the body experience. To see this way  requires an opening of mind, heart, body, spirit from one or more parameters. A
